On a lovely frosty morning a team from the Cathedral and the Hawk and Owl Trust climbed to the top of the West Tower to check the Peregrine nest box. Fingers are crossed for a successful breading season this year.
Photographer Simon Stirrup captured these amazing photos of the spectacular view from the West Tower and also a close up of the female Peregrine taking flight from the East Gable End of the Cathedral.

A male Peregrine has been spotted putting on some great displays here at Ely Cathedral this week.
While a female was perched unseen on the West Tower calling, the male circled overhead twisting, almost flying upside down and plunging vertically!
